Performance IQ is an intelligent tracking system that measures and displays performance results in a fun and engaging environment. Cyclists can track their calories, functional threshold power, and see their cycling data show in real time (Watts, RPM, Color Coded Zones, and more).
Performance IQ offers a wireless display based on the accurate data it collects from participants, and automatically emails performance results and calorie expenditure to users after each training session.
Most cardiovascular fitness equipment uses default settings (ex. Male, 175 lb) to estimate your calories and intensity, which typically leads to either over or underinflated numbers. By creating a member profile on PIQ, you will receive an accurate display of your calories, speed, distance, and watts/lb - taking your workouts and fitness level to a whole new level!
If you choose not to create a profile, you can still participate, but the information will default to a 175 lb male. If a woman creates a PIQ profile, but doesn’t enter her weight, it will default to 135 lb. Please note: Your weight will NOT be displayed on the screen.
After a thorough warm-up, your instructor will coach you through a 3-minute effort to measure your maximum sustainable power wattage. Then through the wonders of technology, PIQ creates 5 power zones and displays them as different colors. Working in zones calculated from your PTP score will help you get the most out of each workout by making sure you are exercising at the appropriate intensity.
Classes are all 50-minutes in length. We recommend that you bring water and a towel with you and wear athletic shoes or bike shoes with SPD cleats. You can also bring a flash drive to download a more detailed class metric report.
