Camp Double Eagle

YMCA Camp Double Eagle: Ages 7-12

A home away from home where kids laugh, learn, explore, and grow in the outdoors, while creating memories and friendships that last a lifetime.

Outdoor exploration awaits at Camp Double Eagle, located on over 30 acres in the southern unit of beautiful Kettle Moraine State Forest. Amenities includes an outdoor swimming pool, bath and shower facilities, basketball court, climbing wall, archery range, craft lodge, and an open-air shelter. Campers will hike to Paradise Springs to discover nature as a part of their outdoor adventure and take field trips to Ottawa Lake throughout the summer for water activities, fishing, and picnicking.

THE GREAT OUTDOORS

Week 1: June 13-17

Welcome to Camp Double Eagle! Make new friends and get ready to explore the joys of camp. Archery, swimming, water activities, games, crafts, and so much more. Summer is finally here!


SUMMER DOWN UNDER

Week 2: June 20-24

Hello mates! Bring your imagination as campers will become crocodile hunters, learn how to throw boomerangs, create skits, and more.


SCIENCE GONE CRAZY

Week 3: June 27-July 1

Let’s have some fun! Get your hands messy this week as we explore the world of science. Our camper scientists will have many natural resources to experiment with and use.


TREASURE HUNTERS & PIRATES

Week 4: July 5-8

Time to sail away in search of Camp Double Eagle’s sunken treasures! Campers will work in teams to complete puzzles and treasure hunts. No camp on July 4th.


WILD WISCONSIN

Week 5: July 11-15

Explore the outdoors! Campers will hike, fish, and enjoy water activities this week as we enjoy classic Wisconsin outdoor activities.


AROUND THE WORLD

Week 6: July 18-22

Let’s explore the globe and see where we can go! Get your passports ready to learn different games and activities played around the world.


IT’S A THINGAMAJIG

Week 7: July 25-29

Campers will stretch their brains while exploring famous inventions and their inventors, while creating their own “thingamajigs.” Put on your thinking cap and join the fun! 


CAMP VS CAMP

Week 8: August 1-5

Join us for daily competitions as campers compete, referee, and learn how to keep score. At the end of the week, Camp Double Eagle will compete against the Waukesha Y for the annual All Camp Games. Who will win the trophy this year?


WATER WIPEOUT

Week 9: August 8-12

It’s time to cool off! Campers will get to swim at Ottawa Lake and other off site locations this week. Get ready for water games and activities...bring your goggles! 


STAR WARS, CAMP WARS

Week 10: August 15-19

May the force be with you at Camp Double Eagle! Campers will embark on the greatest adventure ever seen in a galaxy long ago and far away. 


CATCH THE SPIRIT

Week 11: August 22-26

Bring your camp spirit as we say goodbye to summer! Join us for a recap of our favorite songs and games, and ending with a carnival at the Waukesha Y.

Camper Drop Off & Pick Up

The following MUST be observed:

  • Children attending Camp Double Eagle may
    be dropped off and picked up at the Y. If your child will be transported to Camp Double Eagle, they must be signed in by 8:25 AM. Campers will return to the Y between
    4:15-4:30 PM.
  • Campers may also be dropped off and picked up at Camp Double Eagle at 9:00 AM and picked up no later than 4:00 PM.
  • Camp Double Eagle transportation is provided to and from the Mukwonago and Waukesha YMCAs.
  • Camp Double Eagle transportaion is provided to and from the Southwest Y on weeks 3, 6, and 9 only.
  • Campers arriving late for Double Eagle are required to provide their own transportation.
  • Children scheduled to attend Camp Double Eagle may not transfer to another camp if
    they miss the departure time or for any
    other reason.

If you have changes in pick up routines on a daily basis, an alternative release form must be submitted. See Camp Director for more details.

Transportation

  • The Double Eagle buses depart from the Waukesha and Mukwonago YMCAs no later than 8:35 AM.
  • Campers must be signed in and ready to board the bus no later than 8:25 AM.
  • The buses will return to the Waukesha and Mukwonago YMCAs between 4:15 and 4:30 PM.
  • Extended Care is only offered at the Mukwonago and Waukesha Ys for Camp Double Eagle.
  • Campers arriving late for Double Eagle are required to provide their own transportation and cannot be enrolled in another camp for
    the day.
  • Transportation will be provided to and from
    the Southwest Y during weeks 3, 6, and 9. The
    bus will leave the Southwest Y promptly at
    8:00 AM and return to Southwest at 4:30 PM.

Extended Care

Is a free service and is available 7:00-9:00 AM and 4:00-6:00 PM every day at the Mukwonago and Waukesha YMCAs. It is not available onsite at Camp Double Eagle. However, it is available for Double Eagle campers at the Y that offered their transportation.

Absences &
Schedule Changes

If your child will be absent for any reason, please contact the YMCA that your child is being dropped off and picked up at prior to 8:00 AM. The YMCA opens at 5:00 AM. A YMCA staff person will forward your message to the appropriate camp director.
