Through YMCA Youth Sports programs, your child will improve skills, overcome challenges, make new friends, be active, and develop lifelong passions.

We have a wide selection of Parent & Child, Preschool, School Age, and Teen Sports classes, clinics, and leagues. Find a program at a location near you.
 

YMCA Approach to Youth Sports

YMCA Sports feature a "games approach" as children learn by playing modified games instead of just repeating drills.  Playing active games keeps participants excited and motivated, which reduces the likelihood of any behavior problems associated with boredom.  Players learn faster and perform better when they have fun!  The more fun kids have, the longer they stay active in sports, thus maintain an active lifestyle.

YMCA Offerings

Our YMCA offers year-round Youth Sports leagues for children in first through eighth grade and skills classes for children 2–14 years old.  Each location also offers sports clinic designed to work on certain aspects of a game, while also teaching individuals drills to work on at home. 

From playing in an action packed game to learning the fundamentals, we provide an atmosphere where fun, individual development, and building confidence are top priority.

YMCA Youth Sports Goal

Whether it's youth soccer, basketball, martial arts or one of our many other offerings, our sports classes foster lifelong passions and teach your child the fundamentals, while improving technique and preparing your child for future sport endeavors such as league play.  Our youth sports leagues offer equal play time for every player and promote sportsmanship and teamwork.  In every league, Y instructors and trained volunteer coaches help each athlete reach their highest potential through interactive drills, teamwork, skill refinement, and game play.

Overall, Youth Sports puts emphasis on healthy relationships between adults and youth as well as family, with a goal to build social skills and sport skills with all participants, thus developing a stronger future.

  Parent & Child Sports

Ages 2-3

Kids will be able to play sports with their favorite teammates! Sports vary throughout the year, but the goals remain the same: building self-confidence, socializing, sharing, and teamwork. The students will learn the elements that are needed to build a strong foundation for various sports, like soccer, basketball, t-ball, flag football, and sports sampler. Toddler with parent classes will cultivate the values, skills, and relationships that lead to positive behaviors all in a fun atmosphere.

  Preschool Sports Sampler

Ages 3-5

Kids will be able to sample a variety of basic sports skills, build self-confidence and have fun. The Y sports sampler will cultivate the values, skills, and relationships that lead to positive behaviors all in a fun atmosphere.

From learning to hit to playing an action-packed game on the field, we build a strong foundation where players have fun, gain self-confidence, and strengthen skills and teamwork. But most importantly, coach-pitch at the Y is about more than just a game, it is about building the whole child, from the inside out.

Dodgeball is a perfect sport for building stronger physical and mental skills, like gaining self-confidence and teamwork. Y dodgeball is about more than just the game, it is about building the whole child, from the inside out.

Introduce your child to a game filled with action, fun, and teamwork. We use sting-proof dodgeballs, so no one will get stung. Through learning and refining throwing and catching skills, as well as body awareness, your child will learn the fundamentals with positive coaching and personal attention as we lay the foundation for tournament play.

Youth Dodgeball Tournaments

During our golf clinics, trained coaches will focus on building players’ core skills such as driving, putting, scoring, conditioning, and more. All levels are welcome and will be separated by age and skill level.

  Youth Parkour

Parkour is a challenging, demanding physical discipline to train the mind and the body to overcome any obstacle quickly, efficiently and safely. This discipline emerged from French military and firefighter training. You will learn to vault over boxes, bound across railings and navigate any terrain using your own body. This course is taught by A.D.A.P.T. certified coach from Wisconsin Parkour.

Kids Ages 10-17

Introduce your child to a new challenge filled with action, fun, and teamwork. Through learning and refining strength and endurance, as well as body awareness, your child will learn the fundamentals of Parkour with positive coaching and personal attention.
