At the Y, we offer a wide range of Specialty Fitness classes including Yoga, Pilates, and TRX®.  See the class descriptions below to find out which class is perfect for you!

Specialty Fitness Attendance Options:

Register for any class for an entire session.

Register for a day and time of the Specialty Fitness class you are interested in. Attend that same class (day and time) for the entire session for one great price.

$6 Drop In Pass

Purchase a single $6 drop in pass to try one of our Specialty Fitness classes before you register for a session. These $6 passes are available to AWAY members as well!

  YOGA

YOGA

Combines flexibility and strength through moving poses and still poses while focusing on breathing and relaxation techniques. All levels welcome.


YOGA FOUNDATIONS

Explore various poses. Increase knowledge of the purpose and mechanics of each pose. Focus on proper alignment, matching breath with movement, and building awareness during practice.


GENTLE YOGA

This class is similar to regular yoga with a focus on relaxation and restoration of the body. This is a great class for beginners, especially if you are new to yoga.


HATHA YOGA

Challenge yourself and grow in these classes as you learn foundational poses and aspects of yoga as well as being invited to deepen your practice.


RESTORATIVE YOGA

A gentle series of poses for rejuvenating the mind and body.


YIN YOGA

Targeting the connective tissues, primarily the pelvis, hips, and lower spine, yin yoga postures are held for 3-5 minutes each. This quiet, still practice differs from restorative yoga in that the ligaments, tendons, fascia, and even joints are being exercised with gentle, consistent pressure.

  PILATES

PILATES

Build core strength, flexibility, and agility through a series of lying and standing positions. Improve spinal awareness, alignment, and learn proper breathing techniques. Time is also spent on toning upper and lower body. Rings, balls, and bands may be used. All levels welcome.


PILATES FLOW

A fusion of Pilates and yoga fitness principles incorporating balance and flexibility followed by meditation.

  TRX®

TRX® SUSPENSION TRAINING

TRX® is total resistance exercise using a suspension strap system allowing you to perform exercises that build power, strength, flexibility, and mobility. 


TRX® CORE

This core workout is designed to offer you a mix of strength, core stability, and balance exercises using your own bodyweight. This module will help prepare participants for TRX® Cardio and TRX® Fusion.


TRX® FUSION

A combination of TRX® suspension, heavy ropes, kettlebells, TRX® RIP Trainer and other equipment. This high intensity format will continue to challenge you and help you reach your fitness goals and improve flexibility, as well as core and functional strength. 


TRX® KETTLEBELL

This class incorporates two of the most functional pieces of fitness equipment into one class. Get the core, strength, and functional benefits of the TRX® Suspension Trainer, as well as the explosive metabolically charged exercises that can be performed with kettlebells. Torso powered movements will work the abs, back, upper body, and lower body. 


TRX® YOGA

The suspension of the TRX®  both supports and challenges many yoga poses helping you deepen the stretch while working your entire body. Combining the TRX® with yoga will challenge your core, stretch your back, tone upper body, and increase flexibility. 

  OTHER SPECIALTY CLASSES

CYCLE FUSION

Get the benefits of an indoor cycling class, combined with cardio and strength drills done off the bike in our fitness center.


HIIT FIT

This High Intensity Interval Training program will take your fitness to the next level. Each week your workout will consist of varied and challenging timed work/rest intervals including cardiovascular training, strength, plyometrics, functional, and core training. 


TABATA TRACK ATTACK

Take it to the track with our new Tabata-style workout. Class consists of intervals of 20 seconds of exercise, followed by 10 seconds of rest, which boost the post exercise caloric burn and rev up your metabolism. You will use the track, cardio machines, weights, and other equipment to get a diverse and intense functional workout.


WOMEN & WEIGHTS

Class is designed to help women transform their bodies through strength training. Improve posture, strength, lean muscle, and reduce body fat. Get comfortable in the weight area, learn proper lifting technique, and see why strength training is essential for women.
