Each month, we are proud to recognize YMCA of the Greater Waukesha County employees who have exemplified outstanding service through their work, have demonstrated a positive and supportive attitude, and have served the Y’s mission in an exceptional manner. Read more this month’s staff below.
Sam, one of our 4K Wrap Teachers, is July's Employee of the Month due to her unwavering dedication to providing excellent programming for her students and supporting her team. Regardless of any last-minute changes that arise, she remains flexible and ready to tackle whatever is needed. Sam's tremendous heart shines through in her interactions with her 4K kids during the school year and our 7-13-year-old campers at Camp Double Eagle during the summer. Moreover, she brings liveliness to the YBASE team with her quick wit and delightful sense of humor. We truly adore Sam!
Melba is a Member Service Representative and Building Supervisor at the Southwest YMCA. She is a strong woman with an amazing personality. Melba takes great pride in her two sons and daughter. She has become a mother figure to many of our younger staff members, taking them under her wing. Everyone is thrilled when they see her walk in the door, as she is known for her quick wit and sense of humor.
In addition to her traditional roles, Melba has been a team player, stepping in to help in various capacities, such as coaching gymnastics and volleyball.
When Melba is present, she ensures the safety of the building and its members. She serves as a role model for the youth in our facility, guiding them toward a bright future. The Y greatly appreciates everything that Melba brings to the team!
Our Summer Camp Staff are our July Employees of the Month! They worked tirelessly during a week of training to ensure a wonderful camp experience for all our campers. They even brought home the GWC Summer Camp Cup! They are ready to brave the heat and bugs, engaging our campers in fun and exciting activities while also prioritizing their safety throughout the entire summer.
David began his journey with the YMCA in August 2022 and has been an irreplaceable asset ever since. His tenure at the Waukesha Y started as a personal trainer but has quickly grown to include a wide variety of roles, such as Building Supervisor, Police Academy Physical Readiness Test Supervisor, Family Boot Camp Instructor, and more. His magnetic personality has made him a go-to person for staff, members, and, most importantly, individuals young and old who are new to fitness. Outside of the Y, David is dedicated to his family and spends his limited spare time hanging out with his loving wife, son, and two daughters. When asked what he would like to include in this write-up, he challenged us to a game of "Two Truths and a Lie." Test your knowledge of David by identifying which statement is false among the following three:
Diane, a Personal Trainer, is our Employee of the Month for July. She has been with the Y for over 10 years, demonstrating her dedication and commitment. Diane is a hard worker who stays consistently busy with appointments, thanks to her extensive client list. When she isn't with a client, you can find Diane at the Fitness desk, warmly greeting members and staff with her friendly smile. She is truly an essential part of the West Suburban team!
Imagine going to work knowing that what you do positively influences people in our community. Join our team and make an impact! We're hiring passionate people who want to make a difference. All Y employees receive a FREE membership and program discounts.
