Each month, we are proud to recognize YMCA of the Greater Waukesha County employees who have exemplified outstanding service through their work, have demonstrated a positive and supportive attitude, and have served the Y’s mission in an exceptional manner. Read more about this month’s staff below.
Stephanie is relatively new to the YMCA but has come on strong as a pillar in the fitness department. From teaching aqua classes, taking on a heavy load of personal training clients, and directing Healthy Living programs, Stephanie has shown her ability to excel in several different arenas. Every day, she brings a positive attitude, a bright smile, and a helpful demeanor. Stephanie is a go-getter and has impacted many lives in her short time with the Y. We look forward to having Stephanie as a part of the team for a long time to come so she can continue to make the YMCA a better place.
Kingston's dedication to his role at the YMCA is truly commendable. Not only does he excel in ensuring the safety and well-being of all pool attendees, but he also takes the time to mentor and train new lifeguards, passing on his knowledge and expertise to the next generation of safety professionals.
His willingness to go above and beyond his regular duties is a testament to his strong work ethic and commitment to the YMCA's mission. Whether it's picking up last-minute shifts or lending a helping hand wherever needed, Kingston consistently demonstrates his reliability and dependability.
It is employees like Kingston who make the YMCA such a special place for members and staff alike. His positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to help others make him a true asset to our team. Meet Sara. Our phenomenal Waukesha YMCA team member since 2020 who brings a wealth of 25 years' experience in aquatics and group fitness. Whether she's keeping our swimmers safe as a lifeguard, leading water fitness classes, or instructing swim lessons, Sara is a constant inspiration. When not at the YMCA, this supermom of 3 loves the beach and spending quality time with her family. We are so grateful for Sara, she's more than an employee, she's a valued member of our Waukesha YMCA family.
Terri is May's Employee of the Month because she is a prime example of the YMCA's mission! Terri is one of our Yoga & AOA instructors and has been an instructor here for over 10 years! Terri is always willing to help whether it is subbing for our other group exercise instructors, participating in our community events and also being helpful to members with questions. Terri always comes into the Y promoting the core values and brings positivity around our members. We appreciate Terri's cheeriness and positivity every day she comes to the Y! Some Fun Facts about Terri are; while working as an RN in Labor and Delivery in a small, Georgia hospital, she delivered almost 2 dozen babies including a set of premature twins.
She also lived on the island of Guam for a couple of years in the 1970’s and experienced her first and only earthquake while hosting a baby shower. Definitely not the last fun fact but a Milwaukee Bucks commercial was filmed in her home in the 1990’s. Our home has high ceilings, which were helpful.
