Each month, we are proud to recognize YMCA of Greater Waukesha County employees who have exemplified outstanding service through their work, have demonstrated a positive and supportive attitude, and have served the Y’s mission in an exceptional manner. Read more this month’s staff below.
Kelly, an Assistant Preschool Teacher, is our April Employee of the Month. Kelly is a team player who steps in to help whenever she is needed. She is dedicated to providing the highest quality early learning experience for children in both Preschool and Extended Care. Thank you, Kelly, for working so hard!
Shelley is a Member Service Representative at the Southwest YMCA. Shelley has been greeting and assisting members with her infectious smile for over three years. Shelly and her husband have two adult daughters and the world’s cutest dog. Shelly recently spent some time relaxing in the Arizona sun and now has a great tan that we are all envious of.
Shelley’s hobbies include Irish Dancing with Glencastle Irish Dancers, playing Pickleball, and ordering pizza while watching movies. She has become the unofficial SW Y’s Pickleball Ambassador and is set to begin teaching an Intro to Pickleball class at the Southwest Y for others to learn the game.
Shelley is an amazing asset to the Southwest YMCA Membership Team. We are so lucky to have her.
This month, we recognize three Tri County Team Members who have gone above and beyond in helping to keep the Y clean and operating smoothly.
Patrick (in the red shirt) chose to work at the Y because our mission aligns with his personal values and his active lifestyle. Patrick comes to us with 28 years of experience as a firefighter. His favorite thing about working at the Y is meeting new people, and each day is different from the last.
Ronald (in the gray shirt) is happily retired but works a few hours per week to stay busy and active. With experience as a Safety Manager, Ronald helps keep the members he meets on a daily basis safe while at the Y. We're happy to have him on the team, but if you don't see him during football season, it might be because he and his wife go to at least one away Packer game every year!
Joey (in the blue shirt) has always liked working out here. Plus, since his mother works here too and has always spoken highly of the Y, what a great opportunity to be part of a movement to better the community? While he balances his academic responsibilities and work tasks, Joey is happy to help members with whatever they need and keep the equipment clean and functioning for everyone.
Thank you, Patrick, Ronald, and Joey, for all that you do. You're efforts do not go unnoticed!
"Hi, my name is Jaelyn! I have been working at the YMCA since 2020 as a gymnastics instructor, but have been coming to the Y my entire life. I've been with the Gymnastics program almost that entire time. I will be attending UW- Whitewater in the fall for Elementary Education and Spanish. I love working with children and hope to do it my whole life. I love seeing their confidence grow and their trust in themselves grow. I am so grateful for all of the opportunities the Y has given me, and I hope to continue working here for as long as possible."
Thank you, Jaelyn, for bringing your passion and dedication to the Y!
Ruben has been instrumental in keeping our facility safe and clean the entire time he has worked here. He makes sure the pools are working properly as well. His positive attitude, dependability, and creative problem-solving make him an ideal candidate for this honor. The next time you notice a repair that has been made around the facility, know that Ruben likely was instrumental in making it happen.
Imagine going to work knowing that what you do positively influences people in our community. Join our team and make an impact! We're hiring passionate people who want to make a difference. All Y employees receive a FREE membership and program discounts.
