Each month, we are proud to recognize YMCA of the Greater Waukesha County employees who have exemplified outstanding service through their work, have demonstrated a positive and supportive attitude, and have served the Y’s mission in an exceptional manner. Read more this month’s staff below.
Congratulations to Cindy, our December Employee of the Month! She has been a Membership Representative since April 2021. Whether she's giving a tour to a prospective member or contacting those who have recently joined, Cindy provides unique and personalized experiences for all. She loves helping others get the most out of their membership, and we're grateful she's part of our Mukwonago team! When she's not working at the Y, Cindy enjoys gardening, camping, and rescuing animals. Thanks, Cindy, for all you do!
Katherine started her journey at the Southwest YMCA in April 2018 as a lifeguard. Her exposure to the vibrant atmosphere of the camp staff during the summer swims motivated her to join our summer camp team in 2021. The excitement was palpable when she became a part of our Y BASE team as a Site Supervisor for the current school year, extending her role to a year-round position. Kat brings invaluable experience and a sense of enjoyment to her Y BASE program, utilizing her exceptional leadership skills to nurture leadership qualities among the students in her program. During her leisure time, she enjoys playing darts or planning her wedding!
With a degree in elementary education, Savanna's journey led her from college to a Summer Day Camp Counselor role at the Y, reigniting her love for working with children. Her previous experiences at Meijer and Bath & Body Works honed her knack for forming strong connections with customers, a skill she brings to her interactions with our members.
At the Y, Savanna thrives in Child Watch, seamlessly balancing chats with parents about their days while forging bonds with their little ones. Surprisingly, teaching wasn't initially on her radar, but a classroom experience flipped her perspective, igniting a passion for molding young minds that she now embodies daily. Congratulations, Savanna, for your dedication and invaluable contributions to our team!
Lisa has been part of the Y for 7 years, teaching in our 4k classroom. Lisa excels in establishing strong connections with her students, employing diverse teaching methods for the curriculum, and maintaining excellent communication with families. Her dedication has led several families to return to the Y for 4k, allowing siblings to benefit from her teaching. Continuously striving for self-improvement within the teaching realm, Lisa finds joy in assisting students in understanding new concepts and fostering their growth. We consider ourselves fortunate to have her in our 4k classroom!
Megan, a Membership Specialist at the West Suburban YMCA, has been warmly welcoming members from behind the business desk for over 2 years. She is known for her dedication and willingness to assist members whenever needed. Outside of work, Megan cherishes moments with her husband and two young boys. Her hobbies include reading, traveling, and photography. If you get the chance, please stop by the front desk to congratulate Megan on her achievements.
