Each month, we are proud to recognize YMCA of the Greater Waukesha County employees who have exemplified outstanding service through their work, have demonstrated a positive and supportive attitude, and have served the Y’s mission in an exceptional manner. Read more about this month’s staff below.
Leslie, or Mrs. Thomas as her students call her, has been a 4K teacher at the Mukwonago YMCA for two years. She always strives to create a fun and engaging learning environment in her classroom, provides exceptional support for her teaching team, and is known for always having a smile on her face!
Jess is an exceptional group exercise instructor who has been with the Y since 2018. She teaches Les Mills BodyPump, Combat, Cardio Mix, and BootCamp classes when needed as a substitute. Jess is known for her positive and motivational teaching style, and she genuinely cares for our members both inside and outside of the Y. Her dominant presence and large following on social media have encouraged many members to join her classes at the Y and have inspired many to pursue health and fitness. We truly appreciate Jess's dedication to the Y and the invaluable support she provides to our members every day.
Dalton has held various personable roles, including serving as a resident assistant at his college. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Rehabilitative Science from Concordia University Wisconsin and is currently pursuing a Master's in Occupational Therapy. What Dalton loves most about working at the Y is interacting with members and seeing them progress in their fitness journeys. Dalton's family is from Green Bay, WI, where he was born and raised. During his free time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and pretty much anything outdoors. A fun fact about Dalton is that among his 17 cousins, he is the only boy.
Sadie has been an integral part of the Waukesha YMCA since she joined in 2018. During her time at the Y, she has held 13 different positions across 4 different departments, positively impacting hundreds of children.
Sadie brings a contagious energy with her to every shift. Children are naturally drawn to her warm personality and kind nature. Whether she is teaching sports skills or leading a preschool lesson, her impact extends far beyond physical development. The relationships she has built with children, members, and colleagues will undoubtedly last a lifetime.
We feel incredibly fortunate to have had Sadie with us during her college years, and she will be sorely missed. We wish her all the best as she moves forward in her career.
We are proud to announce our two employees of the month for May: Jackie and Anna, who are our amazing 4K Wrap Teachers. Jackie is a superb 4K Wrap Teacher at our Tonawanda location. She started at the Y as a summer camp counselor and transitioned into a 4K Wrap teacher to grow in her field. She was chosen as one of our employees of the month for her exceptional attendance, willingness to help attitude, and the positive learning environment she creates in her classroom. Jackie's fun fact is that she loves art and going on runs with her corgi named "Luna."
Anna is a wonderful 4K Wrap Teacher at our Dixon location, and she has been with the West Suburban YMCA for 8 months. She was chosen as one of our employees of the month for her tremendous partnership with her fellow coworkers and her creative, engaging, and educational lessons in her classroom. Anna's fun fact is that she has been to Walt Disney World over 45 times! She estimates that she has spent just over a year of her life at the parks, and she has done everything from swimming at Stormalong Bay to experiencing the Carousel of Progress and eating at her favorite restaurant, Sanaa. The most memorable time for Anna was when she broke her ankle in the wave pool at Typhoon Lagoon, and her poor brother had to push her around in a wheelchair for the last three days of their trip.
