YMCA'S Cardiac Rehab Maintenance Program
HEALTHY HEARTS AT THE Y
Directed by two certified exercise professionals, this 8-week program focuses on cardiovascular exercise, building muscle strength, and working on flexibility in a non-medically supervised, small-group setting. The program provides weekly education related to heart health and access to nutrition coaching with a Registered Dietitian.
• Completion of a phase II cardiac rehab program
• A physician's written release
• Possess the physical and cognitive abilities to participate safely
DISCLAIMER: This program does not replace the critical role that medically supervised cardiac rehab plays in recovery from a cardiac event.
Assessments are administered at the beginning and end of the program to track progress through the Cardiac Rehab Program. Information gathered can be communicated with the participant's medical care team, pending consent.
Following program completion, participants are eligible for phase IV Cardiac Rehab, free for all YMCA of Greater Waukesha County Members.
Teach participants how to exercise independently to maintain cardiovascular health.
Build muscle strength with upper and lower body exercises.
Improve overall flexibility.
Coach participants to continue a lifetime of healthy habits.
