YMCA OF GREATER WAUKESHA COUNTY
FOR A BETTER US
Friday, May 8, 2020
Dear YMCA Family,
We are a community united as we work together to flatten the curve and support medical personnel and first responders in their efforts. The safety and well-being of our members, volunteers, and staff is our top priority; and as our community prepares to open for business, your YMCA is carefully and thoughtfully designing re-opening plans to ensure the health and safety of all of those who enter our buildings.
All of our re-opening plans are rooted in meeting social distancing guidelines, cleaning and disinfecting best practices, and welcoming you back with a friendly smile -- even though it may be covered by PPE -- and a virtual hug. While our staff teams have been reaching out to thousands of you to check in, carry on a conversation, be a friendly voice, or answer questions about our upcoming plans, we are eager as ever to re-open our doors and re-connect with you in person.
We are currently making plans to open our numerous Summer Day Camps across our region. Right now, as children are being forced to stay home, they are missing out on what every child deserves -- time each day to belong, achieve, and build relationships. This year, children will need the Y’s Summer Day Camps more than ever. We will be taking extra precautions to ensure camper safety, while creating an exciting schedule of activities and meaningful experience for children to spend their summer.
The Y is, and has always been, about people and meeting the needs of our communities. We look forward to re-opening to better engage with and serve our communities.
Continue to be safe, lend a hand, and reach out to someone -- we are all in this together.

SUMMER DAY CAMP
Summer is right around the corner, and we know our Y day campers and parents are eager to get outside and enjoy summer after a really challenging spring. The YMCA of Greater Waukesha County has every intention of running our Summer Day Camp programs to provide a safe place and meaningful experience for children this summer.
The safety of our Y kids is our number one priority. We are following guidance from the CDC and the American Camping Association to ensure that our kids can get outside, safely connect with each other, and have a fun summer to remember.
Encourage your children to achieve 60-minutes of daily physical activity with 5-minute bursts they can do anytime, anywhere. Visit 12Bursts website each day to complete the Daily Dozen and track your progress!
