The physiological, metabolic, and psychological components of human life have been found to benefit from physical activity.
Boosts oxygen and nutrients to the brain, which reduces stress and enhances mood and focus. It also lowers the risk of melancholy and anxiety.
Increases the ability to breathe more deeply and to take in more oxygen from the air.
Increases metabolic rate and lowers type 2 diabetes risk.
Strengthens the heart, lowers the risk of heart disease and atherosclerosis, lowers resting blood pressure, and improves circulation. It also raises levels of good cholesterol (HDL) and the amount of blood pumped to the body.
Minimizes the incidence of osteoporosis, increases range of motion, strengthens bones, increases bone density, and lessens arthritis pain and swelling.
Muscular endurance and coordination are improved, as well as muscle strength and tone.

Our ACTIVATE wellness consultations provide you with the tools and support you need to succeed. Every member can sign up for one -- even if it’s been a while since you joined. We want to help you make the most of your membership!
Your complimentary consultation consists of up to two personalized appointments with a fitness professional. By working 1-on-1 with a member of our team, we can help you get familiar with the Y and give you advice on what offerings best align with your goals.
Based on your needs, the consultation will cover: Your personal wellness goals and obstacles to achieving them; make a SMART plan for reaching your goals, healthy living programs, group exercise classes, and fitness equipment; Aspects of a well-rounded fitness routine.
Whether you are new to fitness, getting back on track, or an avid exerciser looking for a little more guidance, ACTIVATE is a great place to start or continue your fitness journey.
