Endowment Fund
YMCA Endowment Fund
The YMCA Endowment Fund provides a secure, stable foundation upon which the YMCA can build its future. Gifts to the Fund are invested, allowing the YMCA to use the interest to support critical programs that require contributions to survive. Gifts can be made to the Endowment Fund in any amount or at any time.
Planned giving opportunities include:
OUTRIGHT GIFTS
Make a direct gift of cash, securities, or other assets to establish or contribute to an endowment. The gift is invested, with distributions supporting the organization’s mission over time.
WILLS AND REVOCABLE LIVING TRUSTS
Include the organization in your will or revocable living trust by designating a specific dollar amount, percentage of your estate, or remaining assets to an endowment. You retain control of your assets during your lifetime and can modify the designation as circumstances change.
CHARITABLE TRUSTS
Establish a charitable trust that provides income to you or other beneficiaries while ultimately directing assets to the organization’s endowment. Certain trust structures can also provide charitable tax benefits.
APPRECIATED ASSETS
Donate appreciated assets, such as stocks, mutual funds, or real estate, to fund an endowment. Depending on the asset and circumstances, this may provide charitable tax benefits and help reduce capital gains tax exposure.
LIFE INSURANCE
Name the organization as a beneficiary of an existing life insurance policy or transfer ownership of a qualifying policy to support an endowment. This can turn a policy into a meaningful future charitable gift.
BENEFICIARY DESIGNATIONS
Name the organization as a beneficiary of a retirement account, IRA, investment account, bank account, or other eligible financial account. You can typically designate all or a percentage of the account to support the endowment while retaining control of the assets during your lifetime.
