Gymnastics class ideal for beginners.
Skill requirements: run, jump off springboard to mat stack, stick (vault), forward roll dismount (bars); lunge, lever, needle (beam); lunge, lever, teeter-totter and forward roll (floor).
The Youth Weightlifting Foundations Program is an 6-week introductory strength training program designed for youth ages 12?15. The program focuses on teaching proper movement patterns, safe lifting techniques, and age-appropriate strength development in a supportive and supervised YMCA environment. This program emphasizes confidence, coordination, injury prevention, and lifelong fitness habits, rather than heavy lifting or competition.Â
Have fun and practice foot-eye coordination. Individual and team skills will help your child learn how to run, jump, balance, and kick in a soccer setting.
"Water Stamina: Children entering this level should be able to front and back float independently. Students learn to swim to safety from a longer distance. They are introduced to rhythmic breathing and integrated arm and leg action. Ages 6-12 years."
"Stroke Introduction: Children entering this level should be able to swim 10-15 yards on their front and back independently. Students develop stroke technique in front and back crawl and learn the breaststroke kick and butterfly kick. Treading is also introduced. Ages 3-5 years. "
