Each month, we are proud to recognize YMCA of Greater Waukesha County employees who have exemplified outstanding service through their work, have demonstrated a positive and supportive attitude, and have served the Y’s mission in an exceptional manner. Read more this month’s staff below.
Sabrina is the Mukwonago YMCA's April Employee of the Month! She has been with our Early Learning department for three years as a substitute, as well as within Mukwonago Area School District and other local school districts. Sabrina started at the Y while pursuing her Associate's degree in early childhood education and has gained experience in each of our classrooms. She strives to provide creative, nurturing, and fun learning experiences to all children. Her professionalism, consistency, support, and dependability have been great additions to our team.
Congratulations to Rebecca, our April Employee of the Month! She is dedicated, reliable, and always goes above and beyond for her students. "Becca" has a natural talent for teaching and connecting with children. She is a true leader in the water, always encouraging her students to do their best and pushing them to progress with every lesson.
In addition to her work as a swim instructor, Becca also volunteers her time. As captain of her high school swim team, she is headed off to college this fall. She is a positive and valuable member of our team, truly embodying the spirit of the YMCA. We are forever grateful to have her as part of our aquatics staff and so proud to recognize her as our Employee of the Month.
Congratulations to Gretchen, our April Employee of the Month! With 40 years of dedicated service to the Y, Gretchen has been an invaluable asset to our community. Starting as a Wellness Coordinator at the Beloit YMCA, she has since held various roles, including Fitness/Wellness Director, Group Exercise Instructor, LIVESTRONG Instructor, and Healthy Living Coordinator. At Tri County, she currently works as a Group Exercise, LIVESTRONG, and Moving for Better Balance Instructor.
Gretchen's favorite memories include attending trainings and leading group exercise classes, where she has positively impacted countless lives. Her time at the Y has not only enriched her professional journey but also fostered meaningful connections with colleagues and members, many of whom have become lifelong friends.
As Gretchen embarks on retirement, she looks forward to traveling and embracing new adventures. Thank you, Gretchen, for your unwavering dedication.
Amanda has been working at the Y since the beginning of the school year as the Extended Care Lead Teacher. She is an asset to the Early Learning Program with her consistency, love for the children, and great communication with the parents. When working with the kids, she always has a smile on her face, lots of patience, enjoys teaching about new places (just ask the kids "what country have you visited?"), and is outstanding in recognizing the best way to make connections with them. We are so grateful for all the time and energy she puts into making extended care the best it can be.
Since moving here from Michigan, she has enjoyed exploring Waukesha and the greater Milwaukee area with her husband and two boys. She also loves reading books that make her laugh out loud, cooking, going to farmers' markets, and bike riding.
Marianna has worked for the YMCA for over a year as part of our Youth Sports department. As a Gymnastics instructor, Marianna shows incredible reliability and professionalism by always showing up early to prepare for her class, as well as creating inventive and engaging lessons. She is able to connect with kids naturally and ensures they have the best experience possible while in her classes, which aligns with her desire to work with children in the future. When not teaching gymnastics, Marianna enjoys running, going to the beach, and spending quality time with her family and dogs.
