Each month, we are proud to recognize YMCA of the Greater Waukesha County employees who have exemplified outstanding service through their work, have demonstrated a positive and supportive attitude, and have served the Y’s mission in an exceptional manner. Read more this month’s staff below.
Lauren is the Employee of the Month for February because she has been an incredible team player and is always willing to jump in where she is needed. From working at the Summer Day Camp here at the Mukwonago Y to contributing in our Before & After School Care programs, she establishes incredible connections with the kids, exhibits high reliability, and is a fun person to be around. We know that we can fully trust Lauren to run a safe and enjoyable program for the children and their families whom we serve.
Carolyn joined our Before & After School Care team in October of 2023 and has proven to be an exceptional addition. Her extensive experience in childcare infuses Before & After School Care with numerous exciting and engaging ideas, much to the delight of the children! Carolyn consistently demonstrates her willingness to assist wherever necessary, whether it involves filling in for our Early Learning Program Wrap Care or extending her support for School's Out Fun Days. Additionally, she has become a highly valued member of our Child Watch team!
Angie was a long-time member of the Y, even before the Tri County YMCA was part of Greater Waukesha County! She says, "I didn’t choose the Y, the Y chose me," regarding why she began working here. Angie has been a wonderful addition to our staff, even going as far as helping to train some of her coworkers! She just loves being a part of the Y. Her favorite thing about the Y is the members, especially her early morning Saturday group!
Angie has worked in child welfare for over 10 years and currently works for Milwaukee County Youth Justice. Fun fact about Angie: she worked at a gym in high school and throughout college.
Judy has been a valued member of the Waukesha YMCA team for nearly 20 years! Throughout this time, she has demonstrated dedication by lifeguarding, instructing swim lessons, leading fitness classes, and actively participating in or volunteering at special events. Judy emphasizes that the Waukesha YMCA is her "go-to spot when she's off the clock." Her preferred activities include yoga and Zumba!
Shannon is the Employee of the Month for February! Originally from Canada, Shannon has been instructing various types of group exercise classes for years. Shannon has been with us teaching water exercise classes since Fall 2023. Since then, Shannon has enhanced Aqua Fit and introduced a fresh flavor and style to the class.
Shannon always arrives at the Y welcoming both new and current participants of the class and is consistently encouraging. She greets everyone with a smile and enthusiasm, eager to share what she has planned for her classes. Not only is she an outstanding instructor, but she also brings her homemade baked goods for her participants and coworkers to enjoy! We are incredibly fortunate to have Shannon as a part of our West Suburban crew!
Imagine going to work knowing that what you do positively influences people in our community. Join our team and make an impact! We're hiring passionate people who want to make a difference. All Y employees receive a FREE membership and program discounts.
