Each month, we are proud to recognize YMCA of the Greater Waukesha County employees who have exemplified outstanding service through their work, have demonstrated a positive and supportive attitude, and have served the Y’s mission in an exceptional manner. Read more this month’s staff below.
Kaitlyn has a passion and joy for working with kids. She brings a fun and unique personality to the Y BASE/4K WRAP/Camp team that people naturally gravitate towards. She is always up for any challenge, and Kaitlyn finds a way to make every task enjoyable and memorable for her campers. We love witnessing her growth in her career and skills in working with children, and she is dedicated to learning and constantly improving. Kaitlyn is an incredible addition to the Mukwonago team, and we are grateful to have the opportunity to work with her!
Meet Julia, the kind of person who knows how to roll with the punches and turn things around in style. She came all the way from Kansas to Wisconsin, and life had a few twists in store for her.
Before landing at the Southwest YMCA as the Membership Specialist, Julia was no stranger to the world of customer service. She could charm her way through just about any situation. But, you know, life has its own plans, and Julia had earned herself a teaching degree. She was all set to dive into the world of education when COVID-19 barged in and played spoilsport. Her teaching dreams had to take a backseat.
But this story has a happy twist. The stars aligned when a full-time Y BASE Supervisor position opened at Poplar Creek. Julia made the jump, and boy, did she find her calling. She took to her new role like a duck to water, working with kids and making a real impact.
When she's not juggling her Y BASE duties, Julia and her husband are busy being the cool aunt and uncle. They love every bit of that gig. And let's not forget their four-legged friend, their dog, who gets his fair share of cuddles and playtime.
Julia's journey is a masterclass in adapting to life's surprises and making the most of every opportunity. From Kansas to her Y BASE Supervisor gig in Wisconsin, she's found her groove and is making a real difference, one smile at a time.
Kristi chose the Y because she and her family love coming to the Y, and she wants to be a part of a nonprofit that focuses on and supports health and wellness. Kristi has experience working in the human service industry, specifically supporting adults with disabilities, mental illness, and aging adults. Kristi’s favorite thing about working for the Y is the members!
Fun fact about Kristi… she is obsessed with giraffes!
The Waukesha YMCA is incredibly thankful to have Tyson on our team as a Weekend Building Supervisor! Tyson brings a lighthearted and joyful atmosphere with him as he enters the building, along with a smile that brightens everyone’s day.
He has a heart for serving others and a positive attitude that is worth more than pure gold. Tyson is always the first to step in and help, consistently going above and beyond what is expected of him. Our members adore him, and the staff couldn’t be happier to have him on the team.
We feel truly blessed and grateful to have Tyson, and we are very excited to highlight him and all of his hard work by naming him our Employee of the Month!
Jenna was welcomed as our newest Site Supervisor at the West Suburban YMCA serving Brookfield Elementary School this school year. She recently graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and was excited to work with students outside of the traditional classroom. Her experience working with students of all ages in various recreation programs shows in the creativity of projects, enriching activities, and games she leads each day. The students are excited and engaged and have already grown tremendously this school year under Jenna’s leadership. Jenna was selected as employee of the month for her positive attitude, willingness to learn and implement new things, attentiveness to detail, and desire to grow and develop within the School Age and Camp Department. Congratulations Jenna!
