Healthy, Holiday Eating Made Easy
Thanksgiving is a wonderful time to gather around the table with family and friends and enjoy good conversation and of course, good food! According to the Calorie Control Council, the average American will consume more than 4,500 calories and 229 grams of fat at their Thanksgiving meal.
Traditional Thanksgiving foods – turkey, sweet potatoes, Brussels sprouts, green beans, cranberries, pumpkin – are actually nutritious. It’s how we prepare them that packs on the calories, fat, and sugar. Here are a few healthier twists on two traditional Thanksgiving menu items.
